Microservices with Go

Microservices are an evolution of the service-oriented architecture pattern that elegantly eliminates organizational friction, giving engineers the autonomy they need to continuously ship, iterate and improve. In this workshop, we will build a reliable distributed system with Golang. We will package services within Docker images and connect services with gRPC. We will build a simple distributed “To Do List” application and will collaborate to build it. Mentors will supervise the entire process. What problems micro-services can solve:

  • Team is too large to work effectively on a shared codebase.
  • Teams are blocked on other teams, can’t make progress.
  • Communication overhead becomes gigantic.
