This tech talk will be a chat between Aníbal Abarca, CTO of Wizeline, and Jaime Romero, CTO of Kueski. They will discuss the challenges they’ve faced while leading the technological areas of fast-growing companies, and how they’ve overcome them.

Aníbal Abarca
Chief Technology Officer at Wizeline
Aníbal Abarca is CTO at Wizeline, where he has expanded the team and created vital focus areas in emerging technologies like cloud, security, and data management. He revamped the way Wizeline partners with its clients, focusing on collaboration with clients early in the product development process. Aníbal is focused on establishing Wizeline as a thought leader in product management, security, DevOps, data, and AI, and he manages the development of several new products for clients and partners.
Prior to joining Wizeline, Aníbal was a Business Partner Evangelist at Microsoft and a Go-to-Market Advisor at Ooyala. He also founded Rutanet, a startup designed to connect freight trucks with available capacity with shippers, and Aventones, a ridesharing company acquired by BlaBlaCar. Anibal enjoys teaching and mentoring budding entrepreneurs and has collaborated with leading organizations in the Mexican ecosystem, including Tec de Monterrey, Startup Mexico, NUMA, and Bedu. He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Software Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Jaime Romero
Chief Technology Officer at Kueski
Jaime is CTO of Kueski, the leading online lending platform in Latin America. Kueski offers instant access to liquidity to consumers, and Kueski Pay is the leading BNPL solution in Mexico. Jaime’s main focus has been on creating an engineering and product culture that allows the organization to become a financial ecosystem. Before joining Kueski, Jaime cofounded Wepow, a Silicon Valley VC-backed video recruiting SaaS solution, for which he led the product and engineering teams. Wepow is used today by hundreds of organizations – including Adidas, Walmart, Heineken, and many other Fortune 500 companies around the world – to attract and hire talent. Wepow was acquired in 2018 by Outmatch. Before Wepow, Jaime worked in different software engineering roles in the U.S., India, and Mexico. Jaime is a computer science engineer and graduated from ITESO University in Guadalajara, Mexico.
