Technical writing is one of the biggest emerging professions in the IT industry, helping communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.

 

In Wizeline, the Technical Writing team is an experienced and diverse group that works with Engineering, Design, and Product Management teams to develop high-quality documentation based on business and technical goals.

 

This course is a unique opportunity to learn about technical writing and start a career at Wizeline.

 

Through self-paced learning, personalized mentorship, and live online sessions, you will learn about:

 

  • The day-to-day tasks, responsibilities, and challenges of a technical writer.
  • The process to create various types of software documents.
  • The relevant technologies and tools a technical writer must know to be successful in the field.

 

Important:

 

  • This course is open only for residents of Guadalajara, Mexico City, or those willing to relocate to the aforementioned cities.
  • The selection process for attendees consists of a brief writing challenge and an online interview to confirm suitability.
  • The course begins with self-paced learning on September 9th and the first live online sessions on September 12th.

Meeta Gupta

Technical Writer Manager

Meeta is a Masters in Comp. Engineering, but a writer at heart. She has more than 20 years of experience in Technical Writing, and was the Director of the Technical Publications department at her last organization, before she joined Wizeline. In the past, she has worked for organizations like Oracle, RSA Security, CA Technologies, etc. She also has a Cisco Press book called “Storage Area Network Fundamentals” to her name.

Joaquin Romo

Technical Writer

Joaquin has been involved on both sides of the end user documentation. First as a heavy documentation consumer and now as a content creator. Experiencing the importance of good product documentation led him towards the technical writing career path. Joaquin has lectured previous workshops in Mexico and Vietnam and truly enjoys doing it. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering but loves technology in all fields and markets.

Eduardo Ocejo

Associate Technical Writer

Eduardo has over six years of professional experience with languages and written communication. He is passionate about improving the verbal and visual aspects of diverse types of content. He also enjoys working with motion graphics and image editing.

Silvia Alvarado

Senior Technical Writer

Silvia Alvarado is a Senior Technical Writer at Wizeline with more than six years of experience working in software development companies. She makes sure to gain an in-depth understanding of the product and the customer’s demands and needs to deliver precise and to-the-point documents.

Alejandra Pedroza

Technical Writer

Alejandra joined Wizeline as a Technical Writer in 2018. Before, she worked as a newspaper reporter for four years. Alejandra holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and a Master's Degree in Information Technology. She also has experience doing research and applying data mining techniques in the area of social science.

Isaí Cortés

Technical Writer

Isaí is an IT professional with 23 years of experience. He has worked in different technology fields and wore different hats. He has been a team leader, software developer, and server administrator. His areas of expertise include ITIL procedures, documentation, PeopleSoft security, web development, antivirus management, CMS administration, and email server support. Isaí has been a technical writer at Wizeline for almost two years.

Ariel Sánchez

Associate Technical Writer

Ariel is a Technical Writer with a background in English Literature and Biological Sciences. He has worked producing and reviewing different types of texts for most of his career. At Wizeline, Ariel has experience creating content for developer portals and documenting REST APIs. Before joining Wizeline, he worked for three and a half years as a proofreader for an American translation agency.

Ivo Sam Álvarez

Technical Writer

Ivo holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Engineering. He has experience in Business Analysis and agile design processes to gather system requirement specifications. Ivo has been a Technical Writer at Wizeline for more than one year.

José Luis Zapata

Senior Technical Writer

José Luis is a Technical Writer with previous experience as a tech columnist, researcher, and professor. He is most passionate about explaining complex ideas in an understandable manner and developing high-quality documentation focused on User and Developer Experience.

Mario Morales

Senior Technical Writer

Mario holds a Bachelor's degree in Language and Literature from UdeG. He has worked in different fields such as media, editorial, and tech industry, and has over two years of experience as a Technical Writer at Wizeline. Mario has participated as a lecturer for previous workshops on API documentation and Writing Concepts. He's a passionate reader and enjoys learning about new (and old) technologies.

Juan José Ruiz

Associate Technical Writer

Juan José has been a software developer for more than eight years. Recently, he decided to embark on the technical writing path to fulfill his need for concisely conveying ideas and thus be able to come up with impactful products. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from ITESM and he made good use of that degree for almost five years implementing backend solutions at Oracle. He’s very interested in the transcendence of keen user research.
